Ron Josol is a professional Canadian stand-up comedian of Filipino descent who performs around the globe. He is the first Filipino Canadian Comedian in canada and is also an actor.
Ron has taped numerous stand-up comedy specials in his career. He first achieved his own comedy special in 2000, “Comedy Now,” on CTV/Comedy network. He has been featured in ABS-CBN’s Slanted comedy taped at the San Jose Improv and recently recorded two comedy specials produced by Showtime Dubai for a record crowd of 2,500. The first, called, “Friday Night Live in the Middle East,” and the second called “the New World Order,” were aired and sold to 14 countries.
The Fil-Am Comedy Jam V returns to the Dole Ballrooms in Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday, April 11. This year’s Jam stars Rex Navarrete, Joey Guila, and Ron Josol, and hosted by local boy Lanai from Island 98.5 FM radio.
Rex Navarrete is considered the premier Filipino American comedian selling out shows across the nation and in the Philippines. Likewise, Joey Guila has set the bar for Filipino comics winning the western division of the First Asian-American National stand-up competition as well as the regional Kings of Comedy in 2003. Ron Josol is the most recognized Asian comedian in Canada performing in shows such as Winnipeg Comedy Festival, International Comedy Fest 2k8, and the LOL Comedy Festival in Hollywood, California.
