Bamboo poles, check. Beautiful Muslim costumes, check. Big fans and umbrella, check check. What you have here are the makings of the Singkil, a dance originating from Mindanao Island. There are different legends that could provide for the source of Singkil but both involve a woman avoiding the effects of the earthquake by gracefully dancing across the landscape.
