The “Balikbayan” track means bringing you back to the first Filipinos stepping foot in Hawaii. They came as farmers for crops in Hawaii. Some became soldiers and some were already soldiers in the Katipunan. There is a brief history lesson of the austranisian movement (development of the indigenous Filipino) without saying so. Pacific islanders have this silent roar, but most people (fil-am’s) haven’t the slightest idea of their own background. This is where Mic3 comes in and makes you proud of a Filipino, let alone one who doesn’t match the typical description of one, for representing the bloodline so deeply.
