Hype 5-0 (Honolulu, Hawaii)
Driven to prove that Hawaii has a thriving hip-hop community, Hype 5-0 is out to show there is more to Hawaii than swaying grass skirts and coconut bras. With limited funds for travel, Hype 5-0 has honed their skills by spending countless hours on the Internet studying crews from the mainland. Now after conquering the island dance scene with imported moves this hard-hitting crew is ready to export themselves to the mainland and take the ‘ABDC’ stage by storm. They have immense Hawaiian pride and incorporate native dance moves in all of their routines.
Tomorrow night (10/9c) we’ll all find out which three West Coast crews get to advance to the ABDC Nationals! But before you tune in for the final regional showdown, why not see a little glimpse of our very own Hawaii: Hype 5-0. The Philippine All-Stars placed 4th this year at the 8th USA Hip Hop Championship and World Hip Hop Championship held at Las Vegas July 27 thru August 2. Many had felt that their routine was not as clean as last year, but their choreography was just mind blowing. Compared to the other crews that place in the top 3, they should have gotten 2nd or 3rd place. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
