Ryan Conferido is a Filipino American bboy, best known for being a contestant on the first season of the United States dance competition television series, So You Think You Can Dance (2005).
Conferido started his own crew called Quest together with Hokuto “Hok” Konishi, Steve Terada, Victor Kim, Nick Teti, Brian Hirano & Aris Paracuelles. Ryan Conferido and his dance crew QUEST will be competing on the Americas Best Dance Crew Season 3 Airing on MTV Januanry 15, 2009. For those of you who don’t know, Edwin San Juan is considered to be the most successful Filipino comedian. his style on stage is laid back, but his quick punchlines and hilarious stories keep every audience roaring! he has appeared on NBC, PAX, and Showtime. He has made numerous appearances on BET’s Comic View and is featured on the best of Que Locos on Galavision. Regularly, he can be seen at all of the top clubs in Los Angeles.
In the United States, Tinikling is taught as part of physical education classes in elementary, middle and high school grade levels. It’s considered a form of aerobic exercise that also improves spatial awareness, rhythm, foot and leg speed, agility, and coordination. Check out this new style called “Hip Hop Tinikling”!
Tinikling is the most popular and best known of the Philippine dances and honored as the Philippine national dance. Considered as one of the oldest dances from the Philippines, this form of dancing was originated in the islands of Leyte in the Visayan Islands. The dance imitates the movement of the tikling birds as they walk between grass stems, run over tree branches, or dodge bamboo traps set by rice farmers. Dancers imitate the tikling bird’s legendary grace and speed by skillfully maneuvering between large bamboo poles. Tinikling means “bamboo dance” in English.
